Bibliophile and Bibliomaniac

Bibliophile

A person who collects or has a great love of books. A bibliophile does not always ‘collects” books. He/she loves to read books whatever big or small numbers they have or can their hands on.

Bibliomaniac

A person who collects and is obsessive over books. The most common symptom of a person being a Bibliomaniac is the greed of habit of collecting each and every version of same book. These people not necessary read, they might just be collecting the books!!

This popular quote sum’s up the difference between the two.

"The bibliophile is the master of his books, the bibliomaniac their slave."
~Henry Ward Beecher
