C is for Cherish - Motherhood

"'Cherish it all' they say - it's not going to last forever.

I never understood it until the day my elder son refused to talk to his friends with me in the same room!"

~Amita Gulia Sehrawat

B is for Brave -Motherhood

"Bold, Ravishing, Adorable, Victorious and Enviable - That's the definition of Motherhood which is Brave in all of it's forms."

~Amita Gulia Sehrawat

As I typed this and did a quick search, here is one more beautiful piece of writing I could not help but share.

Carry on, brave mother who tries when she’s tired.

Carry on, brave mother who gives unconditionally.

carry on, Brave mother who cries because she loves.

Carry on, brave mother who hopes without answers.

Carry on, Brave mother who loves without expectations.

Carry on, Brave mother.

Carry on.”

Rachel Marie Martin, The Brave Art of Motherhood: Fight Fear, Gain Confidence, and Find Yourself Again

A is for Appreciate - Motherhood

"A woman Appreciates her own mother the right way once she is a mommy herself!"

~ Amita Gulia Sehrawat

I have always loved my mother and have appreciated her for all she did and for she did not do. It was only after I was a mommy myself, I realized the real struggle she went through. Not only the phase before birth, during birth, sleepless nights, just the moments of awe, something changed between us which can not be described. I am glad that it was all for good and we never had to talk about it. Both of us somehow understood it without saying.

Quotes from Three Daughters of Eve by Elif Shafak

Follow the link to read my review about - Three Daughters of Eve by Elif Shafak

“The highest activity a human being can attain is learning for understanding, because to understand is to be free.”

"‘I’ll let you in on a secret. When it comes to the Almighty, grown-ups are no less confused than kids.”

“If you're telling me I should accept things as they are... that nations like obedient good wives, should also give up their dreams, their fantasies... then your grasp of international relations - and women for that matter - is weaker than I thought.”

"The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me"

"Believers favour answers over questions, clarity over certainty. Atheists, more or less the same. Funny, when it comes to God, Whom we know next to nothing about, very few of us actually say, 'I don't know.'"

"The moment one was told not to enter the fortieth door or not to peek into a chest, that door was bound to be unlatched, that chest had to be prised open."

“God was a maze without a map, a circle without a center; the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that never seemed to fit together. If only she could solve this mystery, she could bring meaning to senselessness, reason to madness, order to chaos, and perhaps, too, she could learn to be happy.”

"There is no feeling of lightness like the one that comes after conquering a long-held fear"
