Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki

Read my thoughts after reading the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" (Click on the link to open)

Here are few lines I re-read:

“The love of money is the root of all evil.”

“The lack of money is the root of all evil.”

One of the reasons the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class struggles in debt is that the subject of money is taught at home, not in school.

Proper physical exercise increases your chances for health, and proper mental exercise increases your chances for wealth.

There is a difference between being poor and being broke. Broke is temporary. Poor is eternal.

Money is one form of power. But what is more powerful is financial education. Money comes and goes, but if you have the education about how money works, you gain power over it and can begin building wealth.

The poor and the middle class work for money. The rich have money work for them.

Life is the best teacher of all. Most of the time, life does not talk to you. It just sort of pushes you around. Each push is life saying, ‘Wake up. There’s something I want you to learn’.

“Emotions are what make us human. The word ‘emotion’ stands for ‘energy in motion.’ Be truthful about your emotions and use your mind and emotions in your favor, not against yourself.”

KISS principle—Keep It Simple, Stupid (or Keep It Super Simple)

An asset puts money in my pocket. A liability takes money out of my pocket. ... new definitions of asset and liability

My rich dad did not see Robin Hood as a hero. He called Robin Hood a crook.

“If you know you’re right, you’re not afraid of fighting back.”

Often in the real world, it’s not the smart who get ahead, but the bold.

Wealth is in information...The problem is that information flies around the world at the speed of light.

Great opportunities are not seen with your eyes. They are seen with your mind.

Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.

Life is much like going to the gym. The most painful part is deciding to go.

“Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die.”

Failure inspires winners. And failure defeats losers.

FOCUS: Follow One Course Until Successful.

“Guilt is worse than greed, for guilt robs the body of its soul.”

Whenever I feel that people aren’t smiling at me, I simply begin smiling and saying hello. Like magic, the next thing I know I’m surrounded by smiling people. It is true that your world is only a mirror of you.
